Before you know it, downtown Sioux City will sparkle with holiday lights, festive window displays, and plenty of reasons to gather with family and friends. Let the Holiday Season Begin!
The IBEW Holiday Lighted Parade is Monday, November 23, and it’s the official start to the holiday season downtown. The parade draws thousands of people together for an evening of illuminated floats, festive music, open houses, and holiday cheer. As always, Santa will be there and will help us light the tree at the Sioux City Public Museum! Registration will be open through November 16 if you want to be a part of the parade.
And if there’s a letter to Santa that needs to make its way to the North Pole, you’re in luck! Santa’s bright red mailbox will be back downtown all season long, ready to whisk your letters, wish lists, and holiday secrets straight to the North Pole.
Who Has the Best Holiday Window?
Those festive storefronts aren’t just for show; they’re part of one of downtown’s favorite holiday traditions, the Holiday Storefront Decorating Competition!
Local nonprofits and businesses come together to transform downtown storefronts for the season in a friendly competition that also helps raise money for their chosen nonprofit. Reach out and let us know if your business or nonprofit wants to participate this year.
Shop Small on November 28
Small Business Saturday on November 28 is the perfect opportunity to find thoughtful gifts while supporting the local businesses that make our downtown unique.
