10 Under 40 Winner

Korey Kletschke, Branch Manager, Associate Vice President/Investments at Stifel

What are you working on now?

I have been working with local businesses and nonprofits providing financial wellness programs to their employees. Financial matters are one of the leading stressors that employees bring to work leading to decreased productivity, higher turnover, and increased health care problems. To help alleviate these issues, our financial wellness programs are designed to help empower employees to live better lives. It’s rewarding to see how some basic financial education can make a positive impact on the trajectory of someone’s life.

What is your vision for the future?

Sioux City is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. My vision for Siouxland is that we can continue to focus on ways to attract and retain young professionals. We have made a lot of progress but I think we still have work to do. Putting continued emphasis on what young families are looking for will help our community continue to move in the right direction.

What would you like to see happen in Siouxland

I would like to see more people take a vested interest in what happens in Siouxland. Siouxland is big enough to have all the amenities that we need but still small enough that you can still have a voice and I value that I can be part of the solution to the place that my family calls home. I hope more people realize this early on in life and take the initiative to go out and make a difference.

What are you doing to make that happen?

I work with the local high schools and colleges educating their students on professional development. When talking to these students, I share my own experiences of how getting involved in local organizations and nonprofits has helped me grow on both personal and professional levels. I owe a lot of my success to the people and organizations in Siouxland and I feel that I have a duty to give back. When talking to students, I show them that they can live prosperous, fulfilling lives by sticking around Siouxland. My goal is to show them that by taking ownership within their community that they have the ability to help shape the future of where they live.

How can people help you make that happen?

People can take steps to get more involved. Whether it’s donating your time or resources, everybody should want to see Siouxland continue to prosper for future generations. Are there specific causes that are important to you? Are there things that we don’t have that would help improve our community? Things aren’t going to change if people don’t take the initiative to get involved and make things happen. Are you unsure of how you can get involved? Reach out to me and I’m happy to help get you in the right direction. One thing that I’ve noticed is that the people living the most fulfilling lives in Siouxland are also those that are the most active in our community. I hope that everybody in Siouxland can take that type of pride in where we live.
