Downtown Sioux City is turning up the heat for a full-throttle, action-packed, summertime celebration of music, food, and community that you won’t want to miss. Fridays will be filled with energy, buzzing streets, and an open invitation to experience everything downtown has to offer.

We’re bringing all that and more with Sioux City’s inaugural First Fridays!

So…what exactly is First Fridays? It’s a celebration of local businesses, artists, and culture, bringing the community together on the first Friday of each month. The magic of this event will come from the businesses, artists, and vendors who bring downtown to life, and we want you to be part of it! Whether that means popping up on sidewalks, extending your business hours, or offering First Friday specials – we want to showcase what makes you unique. Kickstarting the First Friday fun is Downtown LIVE! on June 6, 2025. This year, the much-loved concert series is moving exclusively to First Fridays with extended hours and even bigger entertainment. Imagine the warm summer air, a cold drink in hand, and the sound of nationally touring musical acts filling the street and green space in front of the Sioux City Public Museum. With an on-street bar, creations from local artists, and hundreds of new friends, Downtown LIVE! is the perfect way to start your weekend. Don’t forget your lawn chair!

Fridays also means food trucks! Food Truck Fridays is back for its 10th insanely delicious season, June through August. This beloved downtown tradition is taking over Pearl Street Park every Friday. If you love food (who doesn’t?), this is probably the tastiest way to experience the diversity of Sioux City’s food truck scene. Pearl Street Park offers shaded seating, interactive musical instruments for the kids and kids at heart, and live entertainment to make your day even more enjoyable. Plus, free parking for the first hour at any downtown parking ramp makes it even better.
