This issue of EXPAND centers on something we all need yet sometimes forget to intentionally cultivate: community.
Not just social connection, but the kind of community that challenges us to grow, inspires us to think bigger, and reminds us that success is rarely built alone.
As I reflected on the stories in this issue, a common thread emerged. Whether it’s entrepreneurs building businesses in Siouxland, leaders reimagining downtown, wellness professionals helping others heal, or individuals navigating personal transformation, growth happens faster and more meaningfully when we are surrounded by people who encourage us, sharpen us, and walk alongside us.
Our cover story featuring Anastasia Williams highlights this beautifully. Her vision for strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Siouxland is about far more than business development. It’s about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, connected, and empowered to pursue ideas that matter. Entrepreneurship can often feel isolating, but when collaboration replaces competition and community replaces scarcity, incredible things begin to happen.
Professional growth is not simply about achieving more; it’s about becoming more: more intentional, more resilient, more self-aware, and more connected to the people and purpose that bring meaning to our lives and work.
The truth is, we all need rooms that stretch us and encourage us to grow beyond our current limitations. Conversations that challenge us. Relationships that remind us what’s possible.
That’s one of the reasons we are excited to bring John Maxwell’s Live2Lead leadership event back to our community this fall. We believe leadership development matters, and we are passionate about creating opportunities for Siouxland to grow together. Keep an eye out for details coming soon.
Here’s to continuing to build lives, businesses, and communities that help all of us expand.
