What are you passionate about, and how do you use your voice/talent to make a difference?
I’m passionate about uplifting women, helping them feel confident, and creating opportunities for others to succeed. I’ve centered my work and volunteer life around this mission. Through my work at First Look Attire, I have the privilege of helping people feel beautiful and empowered during life’s most meaningful moments. Whether it’s a teenager going to her first prom, a bride walking down the aisle, or a mother preparing for a milestone, I take pride in making sure they feel celebrated and confident.
Outside of work, I live this mission through community service. I’ve spent nearly a decade matched with my Little through Big Brothers Big Sisters, forming a deep relationship built on trust, guidance, and joy. That one-on-one relationship has allowed me to help guide and support a remarkable young woman as she grows. I also serve with the Junior League of Sioux City, where I’ve served as president, co-chaired the Prom Pop-Up, helped fundraise for the Period Pantry, and volunteered with local nonprofits. These roles allow me to advocate for women and families in Siouxland and make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
What is your vision for the future of Siouxland?
I want to see Siouxland continue to thrive – a place that attracts newcomers with strong community values and job opportunities while also keeping our youth engaged, hopeful, and invested in staying. I envision a future where everyone feels welcome at the table, where diverse voices are heard, and where families can build a meaningful life. Education must be a priority, so every child has the foundation to succeed and stay in Siouxland to give back in their own way.
What are you doing to make that happen?
I lead by example. I advocate for women, support other local entrepreneurs, and devote my time to organizations that shape our region. I pour my heart into First Look Attire, not just as a business but as a space where women are empowered—both our team members and customers alike. I share my story openly because I believe that visibility, vulnerability, and action create momentum. I hope that every connection I make inspires someone else to step into their purpose.
How can people help you make that happen?
Get involved. Whether you’re 18 or 80, Siouxland thrives when people step into new spaces, join a cause, or act on their ideas. The Junior League of Sioux City was my starting point. It opened my eyes to the real needs in our community and gave me the tools and connections to be part of the solution. Every person has something to offer, and even small acts can build a stronger, more connected community. You just need to take that first step.
