What are you passionate about, and how do you use your voice/talent to make a difference?

I’m passionate about promoting Siouxland and creating meaningful connections within the community. I genuinely believe in the power of storytelling — whether that’s highlighting a small business, sharing a unique local event, or encouraging people to explore something new in their own backyard. In my role at Explore Siouxland, I have the opportunity to do that every day through social media, marketing campaigns, and by working directly with visitors, planners, and local partners. My goal is always to make people feel excited about what Siouxland has to offer and proud to be part of it.

Outside of work, I serve as the president of Siouxland GO, an organization that supports young professionals and helps build the next generation of leaders. It’s important to me to not only promote the community but also to help shape it by lifting up others and creating spaces where people feel welcome and empowered.

Whether I’m organizing an event, helping a business gain more visibility, or simply having a conversation about how we can make Siouxland even better, I strive to use my voice to spark connections, growth, and positive change.

What is your vision for the future of Siouxland?

My vision for Siouxland is a place that continues to grow, yet never loses its strong sense of community that makes it special. I’d love to see more small businesses not only start here, but thrive — opening storefronts, bringing new life to our neighborhoods, and giving people more reasons to explore and stay local.

I see a great deal of potential in downtown Sioux City. It already has great energy, but I’d love for it to grow into a true destination — somewhere people come to shop, eat, gather with friends, and experience what makes Siouxland unique.

Above all, I want this to be a place where people feel connected, supported, and proud to be part of the community. A place where ideas are welcomed, and young leaders feel like they have a voice in shaping what comes next.

What are you doing to make that happen?

In my role with Explore Siouxland, I have the opportunity to share the stories of our community and highlight what makes this region worth visiting — and living in. I work closely with local businesses, event planners, and community partners to promote everything Siouxland has to offer, from hidden gems to major events. Whether it’s through social media, visitor guides, or helping bring new events to the area, I’m always looking for ways to drive energy and excitement into our region.

I’m also involved with Siouxland GO, where I currently serve as president. We focus on supporting young professionals and helping them build meaningful connections here. I believe that giving people a reason to stay and get involved is a crucial part of keeping Siouxland moving forward.

How can people help you make that happen?

One of the most significant ways people can help is by supporting local — shop at small businesses, attend community events, and choose local spots when you’re dining out or planning something fun. Every time we invest in our community, we’re helping it grow and thrive.

Another simple but powerful way to help is by spreading the word. Share the good things happening in Siouxland — post about your favorite local places, invite friends to events, and talk positively about our region. Word of mouth and local pride go a long way in shaping how others see Siouxland — whether they’re visitors or people thinking about moving or starting a business here.
