THE SOUND WITHIN SOUND

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, vibration, and frequency.”

Nikola Tesla

The hypnotic beat of a drum pulsing through the body, the blue whale song reverberating across 10,000 miles of ocean, atmospheric pressure shifts that send animals to higher ground before an earthquake strikes (and makes my knees ache), the invisible mycelium network communicating in microbe-rich soil, the telepathy of non-talkers and individuals with autism on the Hill. Nikola Tesla. The Beach Boys. Pratyahara. It’s all energy. All vibration. All frequencies.

The universe has a pulse.

And we can tap into it because we are IT. There is an infinite rhythm, a field of force, and we can ride the waves of space and time. We can live as mystical scientists by harnessing the power of the brain to experience the love and grace of God.

  • Delta Waves (0.5 to 4 Hz): Associated with deep, dreamless sleep and regeneration.
  • Theta Waves (4 to 8 Hz): Associated with REM sleep, meditation, creativity, and deep relaxation.
  • Alpha Waves (8 to 14 Hz): Associated with relaxed, calm, non-thinking states, and pre-sleep/pre-waking states.
  • Beta Waves (14 to 30 Hz): Associated with active thinking, active attention, focus, and problem-solving.

When in day-to-day beta brain living, we find the time, space, and energy to tap into time, space, and energy, we can transform our wakeful state into a blissful dream of delta divinity.

And there are, of course, many pathways and passions that can fulfill this purpose, including meditation, breathwork, lucid dreaming, and others, but one of the most accessible and inclusive ways is through sound. And more specifically, through vibration. Vibration increases blood flow, regulates the nervous system, releases tension, and promotes emotional healing by helping us tune the mind and body with the spirit in the most beautiful and harmonious of frequencies, that place on the dial we tap into where our favorite song is playing in the clearest and crispest call.

The human body is the most magnificent technology. A recent article in Neuroscience News, “Breathwork and Music Trigger Psychedelic-Like Bliss in the Brain,” noted that brain imaging showed unique blood flow patterns, reductions in sensory areas, and increased activity in emotion-processing regions. It was pointed out that these shifts correlated with self-reported blissful states and decreased negative emotion, and feelings of oceanic boundlessness

I want some of this.

Sound therapy can help us balance our emotions and physical health by releasing blocked, stagnant, or dormant energy from the subtle energy channels of our interior landscape. Some frequencies are associated with particular patterns and are believed to have positive effects on the body and mind, especially the Solfeggio sound-healing frequencies. From meditation and relaxation to deep sleep, these frequencies offer several benefits. While it’s important to note that the research around these frequencies is ongoing, you can consider trying them if you are struggling with a particular type of negative emotion. At its most basic level, sound therapy offers us something that seems most of us are in short supply of—opportunities for restoration and balance.

174 Hz has been found to alleviate pain and stress, improve concentration, and give the organs in the body a sense of security.

285 Hz has the potential to heal and restore tissue. It supports the immune system, balances your energy, and increases feelings of security and safety.

396 Hz could aid in the elimination of guilt, subconscious fears, negative beliefs, and grief, providing a sense of security. It also makes for some awesome motivational music!

417 Hz facilitates change and can aid in the healing of trauma. It’s said to help clear negative energy from your body and space, as well as negative thoughts and behaviors.

528 Hz is the frequency of transformation. It can stimulate imagination, intention, and intuition. 528Hz has been shown to support cortisol reduction (the stress hormone) and can enhance sleep quality.

639 Hz may help in achieving mental balance and fostering harmonious relationships. It promotes comprehension, communication, and tolerance.

741 Hz helps provide solutions and self-expression by promoting creativity. Also considered a detoxifying frequency, 741Hz can be effective in helping those suffering from chronic pain.

852 Hz can help you find your spiritual center by aiding in loving awareness and pure, positive thinking.

963 Hz encourages a sense of oneness and unity and is associated with activating the pineal gland. It awakens intuition and raises consciousness.

I invite you to—

  1. Listen to your body, mind, and spirit. You are constantly receiving messages in the form of sensations, thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Let your breath be your first response.
  2. Visit your favorite music streaming platform (Bandcamp, YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify, etc.), and, based on what your mind, body, and spirit are telling you, search for the corresponding Solfeggio frequency and hit ‘play.’
  3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 as much as possible for as long as possible, ask for signs, and be ready to receive as you practice tuning that internal dial to your most clear and consistent signal, your holy, divine vibration.

You are humming, my friends. Can you hear it? Can you feel it? Do you believe it? The wisest of words makes no sound. Listen. Listen. Listen. Listen to the song you are singing.

Now, please, dance a little with yourSELF.
